Seminole Heights United Methodist Church was founded in 1921 with 110 charter members. By 1925, we outgrew our first wooden building, and our present yellow brick church building was completed on the corner of Central and Hanna in 1928, where we have remained a staple in the Seminole Heights community ever since.
In 1960, the church built an education building which now houses our award-winning preschool.
Weekly on Sundays we worship at 9:30am and 11:00am, with children’s Sunday school and adult Sunday school classes at 9:30am. On Wednesdays during the school year we have children, youth, and adult programming beginning at 6:00pm with dinner and fellowship. The youth group meets on Sunday nights at 5:00pm for dinner, a lesson, and fellowship.
Currently, the church hosts community groups and events including the Boy Scouts, our annual Pumpkin Patch and Christmas Tree Lot, and community civic associations. We have partnered with Seminole Heights Elementary School and Memorial Middle School through donations, mentoring, teacher appreciation, and community support. We love being a part of the vibrant Seminole Heights community, and we invite you to join us!
